Downtown Maternity Session

Doesn’t the camera just love this girl! Jen’s maternity session was so much fun, we had a blast walking the streets of downtown Charleston finding new places to photograph her and her beautiful belly. Jennifer and Enan own Twenty Six Divine, a fabulous bakery and cafe downtown. I wanted to make sure that we captured a few shots of the two of them there since it is such a huge part of their lives.

Playing Catch Up

As a photographer and small business owner, I know it is important to keep up on my blog. But since my motherly and wifely duties come first I sometimes fall behind on this part of my job. Because I am playing the catch up game I am going to display my favorite portraits from the sessions that I have done over the past couple of months. Hope you enjoy….and I promise to try harder to update and post my latest work more often.

Jenny and Jim

I absolutely adore this couple! Jenny and Jim are two people that you can sit and talk with for hours, they are genuinely kind hearted and just overall easy going people. So, as their wedding photographer I wanted to capture all those wonderful traits that they poses. The love between the two of them is magical and watching the two of them say their vows I couldn’t help but get all teary eyed. Their wedding was held on the rooftop at the Harbour Club, downtown. The evening was full of dancing, laughs and stories from the couples early days.

Photobooth Baby Shower

Baby showers are always a lot of fun, but Jackie’s baby shower was like none that I have ever photographed before. The event was stylized around a safari theme, in honor of the little boy that she is expecting this month. Everything at the shower incorporated the theme, the food, games, and even the photography props used at the photo booth. I had so much fun watching the guests try out different props and act silly in front of the camera.

Kiawah family vacation

For those of you that have visited Kiawah and even if you are a Charleston native, you know that Kiawah Island is absolutely gorgeous and a great family place. The island is filled with luxurious homes, breathtaking landscapes and home to the PGA Championship. I read that Golf World Magazine voted Kiawah Island  #1 best resort in the U.S. I am definitely not surprised by the ranking, it’s a great place to vacation and my summers are filled with trips to Kiawah for families spending time there. When Lisa contacted me a few months back to tell me that her family would be vacationing in Kiawah, I was happy to tell her all about the great location and the attractions of their destination. Since her family is scattered throughout the U.S. they wanted to take advantage of their time together and have family portraits taken. What a great location for a photographer! I want to say thank you to this family for allowing me to photograph this precious time together, I hope you are loving the images that we captured!

I know I have said this before, but I’ll say it again… I just love photographing newborns! How cute is this little guy!?! For Rylan’s shoot we stayed close to home, photographing the family together in shots that will just melt your heart. You can see how truly adored this little baby  is when you look at these portraits of the family together (and we can’t leave out the dog, Foxy. He was so good with Rylan). Rylan was a dream to photograph, letting me wrap him, mold him and even allowed me to place him into a snug fitting basket. A big thank you to this amazing family!
